The Virginia Eye Institute is hiring! VEI is a large and dynamic practice of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Richmond, VA area, including eight locations and an ambulatory surgery center. We are searching for a full-time Registered Nurse. This position will work with our very busy adult and pediatric ophthalmic multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center. Job Purpose
The position exists to perform nursing activities with each department of the ASC.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess and care for all patients who receive care in the ASC
- Maintains a safe environment for patients utilizing accepted standards and recommendations
- Complies with VEI ASC policies and procedures, state regulations, CMS and accrediting body standards
- Maintains complete and accurate records of the care provided

Education
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia required
- BLS certification required (or obtained within eight weeks of start date)
Experience
- Minimum of one year of department specific (Pre-op/ PACU or OR ) experience required

This position requires occasional lifting of 10-15 pounds, the ability to assist wheelchair bound patients from the chair to a stretcher, standing or sitting for long periods of time, and the ability to push a stretcher with a patient on it.
