The Claims Administrator will work as a part of our Safety Team and will be responsible for the processing of liability & cargo claims within our freight brokerage division, BEST Logistics. We are looking for someone with solid customer service experience, who can show solid investigative skills with the variety of claims that we handle, along with being persistent, detail oriented, and unafraid of a challenge – this position requires a high level of proactive communication and consistent follow-up with customers, carriers, and internal staff.
Here are some of the additional details of the role, and what we’re looking for:

Someone who is able to maintain a high level of confidentiality of information, while reviewing and responding to claims, including any appeals and/or grievances. We are looking for someone who can assume whole responsibility of the investigation, processing, and mitigation of these claims, handling them in a timely and professional manner
- A candidate who can wrap their hands around the tracking of trends, while confidently discussing customer claims, gathering detailed information related to these claims to establish carrier liability
- With gathered information in evidence, someone who can exercise sound judgment to be able to help determine whether or not the claims are to be paid as presented based on documented evidence
- A quick-on-the-draw, fast responder, who can stay on top of all communication (calls, e-mails, and other follow-ups) from internal teams and external customers/carriers in regards to claims handling and statuses
- Someone compliance minded, ensuring that all paperwork and documentation is properly processed and completed with the required detail within a reasonable timeframe
- A collaborative individual who can transmit claims to agents as appropriate
- In terms of training, someone who can handle management of corrective action processes, while also providing coaching and training to our brokerage staff on being able to confidently handle claims filings and assist in investigations
Ideally, the person who steps into this role will have:

Proven experience in a claims related role, preferably (but not required) in the transportation industry
- The ability to work independently, being self-motivated and open to learning
- A great deal of customer service experience along with a high level of professionalism
- Top notch communication skills across all means – e-mail/phone and other correspondence
- Proficiency with MS Office, as well as McLeod TMS Software (preferred)
