Position Summary:
This well-established, fast paced, Family Practice on St. Croix is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician with at least three years of experience to deliver high quality patient care at a high-volume work pace, Monday through Saturday, with a flexible work schedule and exceptional work-life balance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations to assess patients' overall health and detect any abnormalities.
- Take detailed medical histories from patients to understand their health concerns and past medical conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood tests, X-rays, MRI scans, and ultrasounds to aid in the diagnosis of medical conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients based on their diagnoses, medical history, and unique needs.
- Prescribe medications and adjust dosages as necessary to manage chronic conditions and alleviate symptoms.
- Educate patients about their medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to promote better health outcomes.
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including specialists, nurses, and allied health professionals, to coordinate patient care and ensure comprehensive treatment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient charts, progress notes, and treatment plans.
- Stay current with advances in internal medicine by attending conferences, seminars, and continuing medical education (CME) activities.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of a residency program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
- Board certification in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM); or board certified in Family Medicine.
- Ability to obtain valid USVI medical license.
- Willingness to relocate; or initially work an alternating schedule on and off island.
