Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist in the smooth operation of our medical office by providing administrative support and ensuring excellent patient care.
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule appointments and manage the office calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Verify insurance information and assist with billing processes
- Maintain patient records and update medical information accurately
- Assist with medical procedures, including taking vital signs and preparing examination rooms
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
-High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Eaglesoft
- Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of basic medical procedures
- Strong administrative skills, including data entry, filing, and organizing documents
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare professionals
- Familiarity with front desk operations, including appointment scheduling and insurance verification
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
