General Description: The Facilities Manager helps carry out the church’s mission by ensuring that all buildings are properly maintained; ready for worship, education, fellowship and service. Manage a variety of schedules to assist members, staff, and guests during various activities.
Position Summary: The Facilities Manager is responsible for the continual care and maintenance of our four DUMC campus buildings. This includes the supervision of custodial contracts. The position is also responsible for oversight and record keeping of vendor services, invoices, safety inspections equipment repairs and basic repair work.
Further duties include effective management, setup and takedown of rooms and facilities for scheduled use. This may require work hour flexibility.
Major Responsibilities:
· Prioritize building needs; review calendars and room reservations for needed setup
· Manage general cleaning of the buildings via contract cleaners
· Perform visual assessments and walkthroughs of all buildings
· Determine routine weekly and monthly maintenance needs
· Perform minor repairs (plumbing/carpentry/painting/electrical)
· Prioritize maintenance and repair requests
· Assist Trustees with reviewing and negotiating vendor contracts (i.e. HVAC, elevator maintenance, roofing)
· Verify vendor invoices for correctness and forward to Finance Director in a timely manner
· Contact/update Trustees for issues beyond your capabilities
· Assist church and staff members as needed
· Schedule and manage all safety and compliance inspections
· Understand HVAC monitors/settings and server as key point of contact with vendor
· Understand alarm system and serve as key point of contact with vendor
· Ensure church grounds are presentable (i.e. free of trash)
Education/Experience
Minimum 3 years managerial experience. Desire to serve DUMC members staff and guests. Excellent knowledge in building management; Strong organizational skills; Strong oral and written communication skills; Ability to oversee and negotiate with contractors and vendors
