Job Summary: As the Production Manager, you'll play a central role in customer service. Your duties involve communicating with customers and coordinating the planning, scheduling, ordering, and delivery of materials, crews, and subcontractors for different construction projects. To do this effectively, you'll need to be proficient in contractor CRM and accounting software (like QuickBooks, JobProgress/Leap, Acculynx, and Service Titan) to keep track of projects and manage finances accurately and efficiently.
Your Responsibilities
Project Planning and Scheduling
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules.
- Handle permits, insurance, and other project requirements.
- Assign tasks to crews and subcontractors, ensuring smooth coordination.
- Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines.
Material Management
- Create accurate materials lists for proposals based on sales rep project specifications.
- Order material, schedule deliveries, confirm drop locations and ensure timely arrivals.
- Ensure materials meet project specifications and are delivered on time.
- Track and manage inventory and oversee supply logistics.
- Maintain good relationships with lumber yards and manufacturers (CertainTeed, Owens Corning, Andersen, ProVita, etc.)
Crew and Subcontractor Management
- Draft and manage weekly work orders for all crews.
- Coordinate construction crews and subcontractors' activities and schedules.
- Provide necessary resources and information for effective task completion.
- Maintain regular communication with project foremen for smooth project execution.
Customer Service
- Utilize Leap CRM software to manage project data and client communications.
- Manage and draft change orders requiring homeowner approval and invoicing for changes.
- Handle all customer interactions, including compliments and complaints, to ensure satisfaction.
- Keep client, manufacturer, and pricing information up-to-date.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and promptly address client issues.
Accounting and Financial Management
- Track project costs, manage budgets, and process invoices using accounting software.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Prepare regular financial reports for management review.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure projects comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Implement quality control measures to uphold high workmanship standards.
- Address and resolve any on-site issues or defects promptly.
Your Qualifications
- Production Manager experience in the construction industry, preferably with expertise in roofing, siding, windows, doors, decks, and solar panels. Plumbing, electrical and HVAC are a plus.
- Proficiency in contractor CRM and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, JobProgress/Leap, Acculynx, Service Titan).
- Professional customer service experience ensuring that all client interactions are courteous, respectful, and reflective of the values and standards of Refined Home Services.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Industry certifications or degrees in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field are a plus!
