Position Overview:
The RN charge nurse is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a healthcare facility. This role involves the implementation of policies and procedures, as well as clinical duties such as patient assessments, medication administration, and patient education. The RN charge nurse must be knowledgeable of state and federal regulations and ensure the delivery of patient care conforms to these standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient conditions and coordinate care plans accordingly
- Administer medication and treatment according to protocols
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies
- Provide patient and family education on care plans and disease management
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care
- Handle and resolve patient complaints, issues, and concerns
- Update patient records and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in continuing education to remain current in nursing practices and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing supervisor or management team
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 years of nursing experience required, with previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledgeable of nursing principles, practices, and procedures
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently
