Summary:
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center has a growing portfolio testing various payment and service delivery models that aim to achieve better care for patients, smarter spending, and healthier communities. Our role in supporting this effort is to manage and provide guidance, technical support, planning, risk, and schedule management to navigate relationships between service providers, product owners and model teams.

As an IT Lead, this individual will be responsible for connecting with stakeholders, interacting with management and fellow Business Services Group (BSG) team members to build relationships, develop solutions, and apply analytical problem-solving methodologies to meet the customer's process, and technology needs.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical project management support and consultation to project and model teams, including the development of artifacts, deliverables, and tracking documentation
- Liase, establish, and build rapport with the model team
- Orient relevant BSG team members on the model’s needs and organization culture
- Create a plan and orchestrate a cohesive IT solution for the model
- - Develop and maintain prescribed IT documents and corresponding project management plans for the engagement - Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Model to Operations Matrix, and Schedule
- Develop an integrated project schedule to sequence the work
- Manage meetings effectively to communicate information and deliver results
- Prepare for and facilitate model kickoff meeting and other status meetings using information from appropriate systems and resources
- Learn about model activities by reading model team materials on SharePoint, Confluence/JIRA, contractor schedules, and reports
- Adhere to BSG style guides for communications, emails, risk tracking, action items, PowerPoint presentations, and meeting templates
- Track and report on schedule, scope, risks, and issues in prescribed systems and logs
- Set up and maintain project documentation in SharePoint
- Document and deliver operational items the model needs
- Assist model team with the creation of System Change Requests (CRs)
- Initiate and facilitate IT implementation work and solve problems as they arise
Requirements:
- Minimum twelve years of formal project management experience
- Must be able to deliver results in a cross functional matrixed environment
- Knowledge or previous experience within the Federal healthcare industry
- Knowledge and experience in end-to-end project delivery, either traditional Software Development Lifecyle (SDLC) or agile delivery methodologies (or hybrid approaches)
- Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Management, Information Systems, or related field
- Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, Agile certification a plus
