Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance to individuals in their homes or healthcare facilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document administration
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual preferences
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment as needed
- Provide first aid care in case of emergencies or accidents
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Respect and uphold the rights of residents, ensuring their privacy, dignity, and safety
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification: Pre Service Dementia Care training for direct care staff and Pre Service infection and prevention through Oregon Care Partners.
- Knowledge of medication administration systems and practices
- Familiarity with hospice care principles and practices is beneficial
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor
