Clinician – Unaccompanied Children
Creative Solutions for Kids and Families is searching for a clinician who is looking for an opportunity to grow, provide services to children in a hybrid setting, and is looking for a place where they can work flexibly, obtain supervision hours for licensure, and live their purpose.
The Clinical Therapist is responsible for the delivery of clinical services geared towards symptom reduction as a means to improve functional impairments to their assigned clients. This position oversees all clinical activities and works with case management, rehabilitation, and medical staff in the provision of comprehensive service delivery. This position involves working with UCs and the Office of Refugee and Resettlement (ORR).
Qualifications
✓ Possess a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling, Social work or other related Mental or Behavioral health field
✓ Valid registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
✓ Preferred: Clinical Experience on trauma informed care; Behavioral Health Services
✓ Must complete background check clearance (live scan)
✓ Bilingual in English/Spanish
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual may be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Completed mental and behavioral health assessments, develop treatments plans, and provide diagnoses for clients within the established time frames
- Ensure clients meet medical necessity during the assessment process as well as complete ongoing individual and group counseling services, screens for human trafficking concerns, and provides crisis intervention services.
- Complete re assessments, update treatment plans and diagnosis as needed
- Provide direct therapeutic services to clients (0-17) and their resource and/or biological families within the office or the home. Direct services may include individual, family, and group therapy
- Implement established treatment plan
- Maintain open communication with resource parents and biological family
- Participate in scheduled office meetings, trainings, and supervision
- Collaborate with social workers, school officials, behavior specialists and other helping professionals
- Participate in client and family treatment team meetings or other scheduled meetings for clients
- Complete progress notes within the electronic health record system in addition to appropriate documentation for services provided within the established time frame
- Complete progress reports within the electronic health record system to document client’s progress and identify continued areas of need
- Complete discharge summaries and reports as needed
- Ensure all documentation adheres to federal contract requirements and audit standards
- Abide by legal and ethical standards of mental health practice
- Maintain communication with Clinical Supervisor and other management team members as appropriately
- Perform other duties within the scope of practice and competence as deemed necessary
- Comply with ORR policies and procedures
