PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER / PSYCHIATRIC CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST
HEALTH CENTER
FULL-TIME (40 HOURS PER WEEK)
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY: To provide mental health assessment and medication management in Tri-County’s Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will provide direct psycho-diagnostic, psycho-therapeutic treatments, psycho-pharmacological evaluation management, and therapy to clients of the health center. This is an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work with our integrated medical/behavioral health primary care teams in providing high-quality, comprehensive primary medical and behavioral health care to Tri-County patients using best practice and evidence-based standards. Tri-County is an NCQA recognized Level III Patient Centered Medical Home and as part of the team-based approach to care, the PNP or CNS will participate in coordinating care for patients, support patients and families in self-management and will engage in continuous quality improvement activities aimed at specific patient population needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of accredited master’s Program in Nursing; Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (PMHNP-BC) or Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist-Board Certified (PMHCNS-BC). Current RI License for PMHNP or PMHCNS with prescriptive authority (including controlled substance license); Current DEA License; CPR/AED Certified.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Pediatric experience necessary. Experience working in a community health center or community mental health center setting preferred. Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced multidisciplinary team setting. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with Electronic Medical Records required. Experience with NextGen strongly preferred. Strong background in behavior changes techniques (e.g. Motivational Interviewing, Self-Management experience, etc.). Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals or groups, managers, patients, colleagues, and the general public; Ability to interpret an extensive variety of clinical documentation, procedural guidance, and eligibility requirements (managed care); Knowledge of provider community and community resources in the Rhode Island area; and Comprehensive knowledge of insurance company principles and outpatient delivery systems.
