Job Summary: The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws in our New Jersey Region. This position will play a key role in developing a positive company culture and ensuring that all HR policies and practices align with the strategic goals of Nova Farms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new employees are integrated smoothly into the company.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances.
- Foster a positive work environment through conflict resolution, mediation, and team-building activities.
- Promote a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement performance appraisal systems.
- Guide managers on setting goals and conducting performance reviews.
- Address performance issues and implement improvement plans when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures by legal requirements.
- Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Coordinate and deliver training sessions on various HR topics.
- Support career development initiatives and succession planning.
- Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs.
- Conduct salary benchmarking and ensure competitive compensation packages.
- Manage employee benefits programs and address employee inquiries.
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
- Provide HR insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Monitor HR metrics and analyze trends to inform strategic decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in the cannabis industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
