Position Title: Senior Communications Specialist
FLSA: Exempt
The Senior Communications Specialist will play a key role in ensuring projects (change initiatives) meet objectives by increasing organizational awareness, engagement, adoption, and usage. This person will focus on development of key messages and communications designed to support our people to be successful through change. The primary responsibility, in collaboration with the OCM Director, for assigned projects and initiatives, will be creating, and executing communications plans and communications designed to support the changes our people will experience as a result of our digital transformation projects. The Senior Communications Specialist will work to drive awareness and understanding for leadership, managers and all employees with the right level of information at the right time for assigned projects and/or initiatives that impact the organization. These operational improvements will increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI and the achievement of Leaderships’ desired results and outcomes.
Responsibilities

With minimal supervision and in collaboration with the OCM Director and project team members, the Senior Communication Specialist develops Communication plans for assigned project work, which includes:

Feedback management

Support Learning Journey development including job aids and user guides

Sponsor / Leader Action Plans

Sponsor / Leader Communications

Power Point report development and management

This role understands how to be strategic in developing communications to support assigned work.

Supports strategies and contribute to ideation of creative, strategic, memorable campaigns that will excite and motivate employees to take positive and productive action.

Applies the Ryan Specialties structured methodology to deliver communications and support change management activities.

Works with leaders and project teams to produce a data driven engaging and motivating communications, conducting surveys, interviews, focus groups, or other communication methods; and summarize findings for project management and steering teams.

Partners with Project management team members and Business Sponsors to understand the departmental goals and daily ways of working to align communications to business needs.

Develop communication plans and communications integrating the schedules for related OCM effort, and deliverables which will support effective sponsorship, higher employee engagement and successful project outcomes.

Understands the unique needs of various audiences.
Requirements
-
Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of enterprise technology deployment related communications experience OR a High School Diploma / GED and at least 7 years of communications experience

Certified in Prosci® methodology preferred.

Experience in Insurance processes is desired.

Experience in participating in cross-functional projects and influencing key stakeholders.

Experience in engaging individuals, teams, and leadership to drive successful change.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly learn.

Comfort working at a fast pace and with ambiguity.

Serious attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.

Keen emotional intelligence

Strong storytelling skills: ability to use stories to engage, inform, or inspire others.
Location and Travel:
Ryan Specialty is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Remote employment may be considered based on the applicant. Periodic local travel will be required. In some cases, non-local/overnight travel will be required.

The target salary range for this position is $107,600.00 - $141,225.00 annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
