Shipping Forklift Driver

The Shipping Forklift Driver ensures that products are shipped to customers following sales order requests and Company procedures. Prioritize shipping picklists, coordinate boxing, packaging and mailing functions while overseeing inventory management. You will handle several paperwork and record keeping including work orders, purchase orders, material requisitions and inventory logs. You will report to the Logistics Manager.
You Will:
- Ensure completion of all shipping functions.
- Ensure that product is boxed observing our packaging procedures
- Prioritize shipping picklist and checks for inventory availability
- Ensure appropriate handling of outgoing product and ships for best shipping rates and schedules.
- Process returns and tracks inventory.
- Identify, tracks and resolves inventory and shipping errors, problems or delays.
- Ensure that shipping responsibilities are conducted following the established procedures.
- Ensure established safety and quality standards are met.
- Ensure forklift is operated and maintained according to safety requirements.
- Make sure schedules and deadlines are followed.
- Complete and maintain all shipping related paperwork, files and records in accurate detail.
- Ensure accurate completion of weekly shipping reports and maintain freight shipping files.
- Maintain records of shipper’s cost schedules (i.e. UPS, Fed Ex, USPS) and ensures inventory is current.
- Establish, coordination and working relations with company personnel and management.
- Direct, assist and coordinate temporary staff and keep management informed of area activities and challenges.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and provide suggestions to improve workflow, cut costs and increase efficiencies.
- Attend meetings and participate in planning discussions.
- Ensure boxes are prepared for product shipping, special international shipments are handled and completes special projects as assigned.
- Ensure work area is clean, secure and well maintained.
You Have:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Understanding of inventory management tasks.
- Use job related computer applications.
- Familiar with UPS, FED Ex, and Federal mailing regulations.
- Knowledge of product protection requirements and packing procedures.
- 1+ years of experience with shipping and receiving functions required.
- 1+ years of forklift experience required.
- Follow written and verbal instruction.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis is required; employer sponsorship for employment-based visa status is not available for this position.
- This is not a remote position.
