Qualifications
- MUST BE ABLE TO GET A US DOD SECURITY CLEARANCE
- Experience as an engineer supporting manufacturing activities.
- Design and project experience in the design, development and manufacturing of mechanical products/machines/structures.
- Basic proficiency in structural analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics
- Understanding of RF principles and electromagnetic compatibility would be an advantage
Job Responsibilities / Key Performance Areas
Mechanical Design and Analysis - 20%
- Collaborate closely with RF engineers to understand the functional requirements of antennas and RF devices and translate them into effective mechanical designs.
- Utilize your expertise in mechanical design tools and software to create detailed designs, considering structural integrity, thermal management, and manufacturability.
- Conduct mechanical analysis, including finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations, to validate designs and optimize performance.
Antenna Integration and RF Compatibility - 20%
- Work collaboratively with RF engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and RF components, considering signal integrity, electromagnetic compatibility, and RF performance.
- Develop mechanical solutions that minimize interference and maintain the desired RF characteristics of the products.
- Develop mechanical designs that comply with specific environmental requirements, such as temperature, humidity, shock and vibration and water ingress protection.
- Perform structural analysis to ensure mechanical designs meet required safety factors and reliability standards.
- Collaborate with environmental testing teams or test houses to validate designs under various conditions.
Design for Manufacturability (DFM) - 20%
- Apply DFM principles to designs, considering ease of manufacturing, assembly, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and procurement to select appropriate materials, processes, and techniques that align with design goals and production capabilities.
Technical Lead Responsibilities - 20%
- Lead small to medium-sized project executions, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met on time and within scope.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, facilitating their professional development and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement - 10%
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to mechanical design and RF devices.
- Propose and evaluate new design methodologies, materials, and technologies that enhance product performance and quality.
Design Reviews and Documentation - 10%
- Participate in design reviews with cross-functional teams to gather feedback, ensure alignment with project goals, and refine designs.
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, CAD drawings, simulation reports, and assembly instructions.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
- Master's in Mechanical Engineering (Not required, but preferred)
Computer Literacy (Required)
- 3D Solid Modeling
- MS Excel (Intermediate)
- MS Word (Intermediate)
Computer Literacy (Suggested)
- SolidWorks, FEA Simulation, Computer Programming (CFD Modeling would be an advantage)
