Virginia Urology, a large physician practice that has served central Virginia for over75 years, is seeking to fill a PACU/Pre-Op RN position at its ambulatory surgery center located at 9101 Stony Point Drive.
The responsibilities for this position include:
· Preparing patients for procedures, including starting IVs, completing paperwork and securing signed consents prior to surgery;
· Receiving patients post-surgery and recovering them in a timely manner to ensure the patient can be safely discharged;
· Conducting patient and family education;
· Ensuring the patient has a post-op appointment to return for follow-up;
· Reviewing patient charts for completeness and calling patients to provide instructions prior to surgery; and
· Calling patients post-op to check on progress and answer questions regarding their procedure and recovery.
This position requires:
· At least one year of PACU experience;
· Critical care nursing experience;
· Current licensure by the Virginia Board of Nursing or a multi-state license; and
· Current CPR certification. ACLS certification is a plus.
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position that will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The PACU/Pre-Op RN is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with generous company match plus profit sharing, PTO and paid holidays off with no night, weekend or holiday work.
