Summary: Inspects welding and metal fabrications to ensure fit and finish to engineering standards. Oversee inspection and measurement of incoming raw materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Oversee inspection and measurement of incoming raw materials and documenting findings to Supply Chain.

Inspect and determine disposition of welded products.

Conducts weld inspection requirements as prescribed in work instruction.

Assure that all quality records are maintained as required.

Maintain AWS QC1 status as defined by AWS Standard Certification of Welding Inspectors.

Work with Manufacturing Engineer to validate fixtures and maintain fixture log before fixture is released to production.

Assist Research and Development with product testing.

Serve as alternate source for shipping audits.

Conduct process audits as directed by Quality Manager.

Assist in Welder Training and Development.

Examines finished products for rough edges, cracks, and appearance.

Reports inspection results.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Current AWS CWI certificate a plus

Experience with hands-on welding, fit-up & welding inspection preferred.

Experience with reading part and assembly prints within a manufacturing environment

Experience with multiple types of mearing devices, included but limited to, calibers, micrometers, tape measure, etc.

Understanding of various weld techniques

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Working knowledge with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
