QUALITY COORDINATOR

Salary Range: $52,340 - $69,790
SCOPE OF POSITION:
Provide support to the Quality function in testing and evaluation of products and processes, operating within established and prescribed practices and procedures. Assist in assuring HACCP, GMP's, Work Instructions, and Food Safety Quality system requirements (SQF) are in compliance. Must obtain HACCP Practitioners certification.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES
Within the limits of applicable policies, procedures, and established plans, he/she has authority to act and make decisions. The assignment of work or delegation or responsibility does not relinquish responsibility for results. Performance will be measured by the extent to which the following responsibilities have been fulfilled.
Functional Responsibilities

Performs regular material testing and process control inspection to adhere to the quality specifications of the product(s)

Assist with product inspection on manufacturing lines for flaws and/or defects

Obtains and keeps sample retains
-
Assist with documentation of quality management standards

Conducts and accurately documents quality test results

Completes QC testing of trial orders
-
Maintain gauge calibrations, receipt, and issue new gauges

Communicates information both internally and externally as it relates to quality
-
Ensure and drive that 20 min checks are being performed throughout the day.

Responds to customer complaints and issue response letters to customers

Sends out lab samples

Tracks quality training including those missed monthly

Performs microbiological testing in the facility

Works closely with the production supervisor to compile rework data and run tests

Provides support to operations to improve quality metrics throughout the plant
-
Follow and support food safety guidelines according to SQF standards

Assists with audits particularly in SQF.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
-
Regular contact with plant production (supervisory) personnel to retrieve, clarify, and resolve issues involving data entered.

Regular contact with Plant Services Manager.

Regular contact with Plant Accountant.

Regular contact with Plant Accounting staff
-
Regular contact with Customer Service Representatives

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
-
Majority of time is spent on the facility floor and the remaining time is spent in the office. Hazards are those normally associated with a Plant position and include: noise levels above 85 decibels, warm building temperature during mid-summer months.

Personal and product safety requirements for the plant include: hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes and hairnets.

Product sorting and reclaim may be required

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
-
Associates Degree and one (1) to three (3) years’ experience in the multi-wall bag industry or
-
High School Diploma or GED and three (3) to five (5) years’ in the multi-wall bag industry
Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Excellent communication, customer service, and math skills.
