Summary/Objective
Under the administrative direction and supervision of Management the role plans, develops, implements, and oversees recreational therapy services for program participants.
Participants rotate throughout the day between activities and clinical.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
· Greet visitors at door and assist with registration and referral to appropriate staff
· Prepare/sort outgoing/incoming mail and package delivery
· Documents participant involvement in activities
· Actively participates in team discussions offering feedback, ideas, and suggestions both on a day-to-day basis and in staff meetings.
· Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (including entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education).
· Escort participants to and from activities
· Develop and maintain accurate knowledge of, and monitor compliance with, HIPAA and agency confidentiality policies
· Communicate with supervisor on daily basis, and as needed, to report all areas of concern/issues/incidents
· Demonstrate professionalism in relationships with customers/co-workers/supervisors to build rapport while refraining from inappropriately familiar personal relationships
· Complete and attest to accuracy of payroll records, and submit for review and processing according to agency schedule
· Serves as a resource to staff and coordinates volunteer activities at the center.
Required Education and Experience
· High school diploma, or general education degree (GED) and four years of related experience and/or training in healthcare and/or customer service position utilizing advanced technology tools including customized software systems.
· Ability to use equipment with visual and auditory mechanisms.
· Ability to effectively communicate in English.
· Flexible schedule to meet the needs of participants.
· Ability to perform the essential functions and physical requirements (including, but not limited to: lifting participants and/or equipment, bending, pushing/pulling, kneeling) of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Education and Experience
· Related experience working with older adults.
· Experience in Healthcare, or Medicaid/Medicare setting.
