GENERAL PURPOSE:
BraunAbility is looking for a strong individual to fill a newly created role of Certification and Test Engineer for the lift product group, which will be responsible for ensuring that products meet regulatory standards and industry certifications. This position will be a steward of compliance and will work in direct collaboration with legal and product design engineers to corroborate an appropriate certification test plan. The individual will design and develop test processes and fixtures, execute test plans, analyze test results, and retain compliancy test reports/documentation. This role will involve staying updated on relevant standards and regulations, identifying areas for improvement in product design and testing processes, and providing guidance to ensure compliance with certification requirements. The hiring level for the position will be dependent upon education and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Develop and maintain test plans, protocols, and procedures for product certification and testing processes.
· Design and execute tests to evaluate product performance, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards and industry certifications.
· Collaborate with product development teams to understand design requirements and integrate certification criteria into the product development lifecycle.
· Analyze test results and provide recommendations for design improvements or modifications to achieve certification goals.
· Coordinate with external testing facilities and regulatory bodies to facilitate product certification processes.
· Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in certification and testing procedures.
· Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams on certification-related matters.
· Document test procedures, results, and compliance documentation for internal reference and regulatory submissions.
· Participate in audits and reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree or certification in certification/testing preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience to include certification and testing processes required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
· Experience in certification and testing processes within a regulated industry, such as aerospace, automotive, medical devices, or electronics.
· An understanding of regulatory standards and certification requirements relevant to the industry (e.g., FVMSS, ADA, ISO, CE, UL).
· Solid mechanical aptitude, and proficiency in designing and conducting tests using various testing methodologies and equipment.
· Demonstrated use of analytical abilities and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex technical data.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate across all organizational levels professionally and effectively.
· Experience with Inventor or similar 3-D CAD software and MS Office products required.
· Exhibits strong teamwork and ability to multitask while maintaining project timelines.
· Experience with test automation tools and techniques is a plus.
· Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a challenging environment.
