Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for two main roles, Payroll and Accounts Payable approvals and communications. The payroll component will be ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This role will involve maintaining payroll records, calculating wages, preparing reports, and addressing employee payroll inquiries.
Payroll Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for employees on a weekly basis.
- Verify timesheets and ensure accuracy of hours worked, deductions, and withholdings.
- Calculate overtime, shift differentials, and other special payments.
- Prepare and distribute payroll checks or direct deposits.
- Maintain payroll records and employee files in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.
- Ensure accuracy of PTO balances.
- Book weekly payroll entries into the General Ledger system.
- Assist with payroll-related reporting and audits as needed.
- Stay updated on payroll regulations and best practices.
Accounts Payable Responsibilities:
- Review AP entries on a weekly basis for accuracy and completeness including verifying sales tax was correctly applied to the invoice
- Perform audits of vendor statements for completeness and accuracy
- Approve invoices for AP processing
- Determine the payment amount based on percentage of collected revenues
- Communicate AP status with vendors and work with project managers to ensure projects run efficiently
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Accounting Clerk or similar role.
- Knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP) and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with employees and external stakeholders.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or relevant field preferred.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
