The position is responsible for developing, marketing, and underwriting of Management, Professional and Transactional Liability Treaty business. While the skillful underwriting of individual risk is paramount, the candidate should be also be a team player, willing to contribute to the larger goals of the department. As such, the candidate needs effective communication and project management skills, working with external and internal stakeholders (clients, brokers, SCOR teams, claims, actuarial, legal, strategy and senior management).

• Underwriting
o Evaluate new and renewal Management and Professional Liability treaties.
o Structure and negotiate appropriate terms and conditions on deals that support SCOR appetite
o Evaluate and negotiate contract wordings
o Evaluate and negotiate pricing in conjunction with actuaries
o Actively engage in and perform underwriting audits as well as participate in meetings for both current and potential clients
o Discuss underwriting and management issues with executives at primary insurance client companies
o Actively monitor market trends and engage in strategic discussions with internal and external parties
o Actively mentor and help train less experienced underwriting staff on various lines of business supported by SCOR
o Support and engage in internal projects
• Marketing
o Identify clients and new business that align with and support SCOR strategy and targets
o Identify brokers that handle accounts that fit the SCOR underwriting goals
o Perform marketing trips to broker offices and build market presence
o Attend industry conventions to promote SCOR and develop business relationships
• Account Management
o Work collaboratively with all internal parties to manage individual deals and overall client relationships, and diligently maintain all documentation for assigned accounts as per SCOR guidelines.
o Understand and follow all SCOR underwriting and pricing guidelines
Required experience & competencies
- Minimum of 4-6 years of prior reinsurance underwriting experience or minimum of 7-10 years of primary underwriting or reinsurance broking experience required. Cyber and Transactional liability experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge regarding Liability reinsurance or insurance with preferably Management and Professional Liability expertise
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Positive attitude and a wiliness to contribute and work collaboratively in a fast paced environment
- Strong Microsoft office skills, particularly excel.
- Willingness to learn and expand knowledge to support both General Liability and Professional Liability lines of business.
- Willingness to work collaboratively and mentor rising star talent
Required Education
College degree or equivalent work experience.

Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $245k-$275k salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives.
