General Accountabilities:
- Maintain and organize files; update files with case status and information, and notify the assigned attorney
- Manage assigned attorney's calendar and send reminders; schedule and calendar appointments and meetings for attorneys
- Assist attorney in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences
- Prepare documents for filing with the state and federal court
- Draft case initiation documents, summons, complaints, notices, motions, civil case cover sheet, civil case cover sheet addendum, and any accompanying documents
- Draft letters to clients, including mediation, deposition, distributing discovery, distribution of funds, etc.
- Assist paralegals with the discovery process
Job Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (strongly preferred)
- Experience: minimum of 1 year of litigation experience in employment and/or class action law (preferred)
- Strong writing skills
- Knowledge of service deadlines for various litigation tasks, including familiarity with the California Code of Civil Procedure
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of state and federal courts and agencies within labor and employment law practices
- Bilingual (Spanish)
