Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of medical procedures by properly sterilizing and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment. Your attention to detail and knowledge of aseptic techniques will be essential in providing quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate techniques and solutions
- Inspect instruments for damage or defects and report any issues to the supervisor
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to established guidelines
- Ensure proper functioning of sterilization equipment and perform routine maintenance as needed
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including load contents, cycle times, and test results
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for surgical procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with sterile processing techniques and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
