Director ($40k - $55k per year + Bonus DOE) – Farmingdale Location
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the preschool’s organization’s strategic plans and goals, keeping in mind the mission of the program or organization vision.
- Oversee the daily operations of the preschool, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children.
- Manage, with upper management, office functions including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, tuition billing and payment, budget planning and review, human resources, and personnel management (staff supervision).
- Manage the preschool budget, including purchasing supplies and materials, staffing allocations, and other financial items.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies, peripheral teams, ensuring legal, regulatory, and financial compliance.
- Collaborate with community organizations to enhance the preschool program.
- Maintain quality effectiveness measurements for the facilities, staff, families, and children who attend the center.
- Conduct and coordinate regular employee staff meetings, work schedules, and training. Discuss curriculum, student progress, and any concerns or issues.
- Hire, train and supervise a teaching team that will provide high-quality learning and social-emotional supports, providing guidance and support as needed
- Facilitate and maintain a positive work environment for all staff.
- Maintain personal and professional development plans to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Develop or implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum; collaborating with staff to develop positive learning experiences.
- Create and implement a family/community engagement plan for those current and past families who have attended the center. Tour new families to increase enrollment
- Develops relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and faculty members
- Oversee all child assessment processes that may include developmental screenings and ongoing child assessment.
- Maintain children’s records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and OCFS/NYCDOHMH requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working in similar setting preferred
- Strong leadership and ability to manage a team preferred
- Must have Early Childhood Certification (Initial or Professional), related field, or active plan of study
- Must have excellent organization, communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
- Basic Microsoft Word, Excel Skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Familiarity with licensing regulations and requirements for preschool programs preferred
- Previous administrative experience preferred

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director in the overall management and supervision of the Pre-K program
- Work with Director to manage staff schedule
- Ensure that the program meets all state and local regulations
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for the children
- Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum and activities
- Supervise and evaluate staff members. Proper escalation of any challenges with Director for proper solutions.
- Communicate with parents and families regarding their child's progress
- Maintain social media communication
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of staff members
- Assist in tours and recruitment of new children
- Aspire to learn and manage various aspects within organization
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred, or active plan of study
- Previous experience working in a preschool, daycare, or similar setting preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education a plus
- Strong leadership and ability to manage a team preferred
- Must have good organization, communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
- Comfortable working with numbers preferred
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Familiarity with licensing regulations and requirements for preschool programs a plus

- Ability to calmly address stressful situations professionally while multi-tasking to ensure smooth school operations

- Must be able to lift up to 30lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
- Availability to work during hours of operation preferred
