Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary medicine, excellent technical skills, and a passion for providing compassionate care to animals. As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant, you will play a key role in assisting our veterinarians in delivering comprehensive medical services to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in performing medical procedures, surgeries, and examinations.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under the direction of veterinarians.
- Perform diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Conduct diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays and ultrasounds, and ensure accurate interpretation and documentation of results.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records for all patients.
- Educate pet owners on preventive care, treatment plans, and post-operative care instructions.
- Monitor and assess patients during anesthesia and recovery periods.
Requirements:
- Certification or licensure as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, venipuncture, and surgical assistance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
