Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in using phone systems and computer software programs
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
This position requires a high level of professionalism, as you will be the first point of contact for patients. The ability to handle stressful situations, such as emergencies or upset patients, is essential. A positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively with the medical team are also important qualities for success in this role.
