Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)
At AC Dentistry, our Dental Assistants are valued members of our dental care team, assisting in providing quality oral care to our patients. As a Dental Assistant on our team, you will help with setting up rooms, sterilizing equipment, preparing patients, and conduct some dental hygiene tasks. A successful Dental Assistant utilizes interpersonal, technical, and patient care skills in the execution of her/his job.
Following is a general list of duties and responsibilities required of a Dental Assistant:
· Prepare clinical area for dental cleanings and/or examinations, including sterilizing and disinfecting chairs and instruments, setting up instrument trays and preparing materials
· Taking and developing dental X-rays
· Discussing and collecting patient medical history to understand potential areas for dental concerns
· Providing patients with instructions on oral care following dental treatment
· Education patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to perpetuate and maintain optimal oral health
· Creating dental impressions for study casts
· Maintaining dental supply and equipment inventory
· Cleaning clinical area on a rotating schedule
· Maintain a patient-focused mentality, fostering a welcoming environment for pediatric patients, ensuring patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental appointments
· Additional tasks, as needed by management
Minimum Requirements
· Certification or associate degree from an accredited dental assistance program
· Dental x-ray certification
· High school diploma (or equivalent)
· Experience using Windows-based computer for data entry
· Professional written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to provide great patient care
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
