Position Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities of the Marsee operation, supporting the achievement of strategic, financial, and operational goals. This role requires a dynamic leader with experience in operations and a solid understanding of quality control, team management, and production processes. The typical work schedule for this position is Sunday through Thursday.
Essential Functions & Tasks:
- Manage all day-to-day activities of Marsee’s Portland facility, organizing workflow to ensure smooth, efficient production processes that meet specifications and deadlines while optimizing labor costs for efficient operations.
- Oversee plant operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and lead initiatives to achieve a zero-injury workplace by ensuring safe working conditions and compliance with all state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Ensure the highest standards of quality control are maintained, taking a proactive role in quality management, adherence to recipes, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with the COO to support company's growth strategies, operational plans and budget.
- Provide the COO with necessary information for effective decision-making and governance responsibilities.
- Support recruitment efforts to maintain staffing levels.
- Train and lead teams of high-performing employees.
- Build strong relationships with employees through effective communication and a collaborative work approach to promote a culture of respect and professionalism.
- Manage performance evaluations and discipline, ensuring adherence to personnel policies and procedures.
- Lead five operational teams, setting and maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each team.
- Maintains records for all phases of production relative to the quality of the product, including formulation records, and those records necessary for auditing purposes.
- Additionally, the Production Manager will provide coverage on the production floor as needed to address staffing shortages, ensuring continuity and efficiency in operations.
- Collaborate with departments such as Human Resources, IT, and Finance on relevant activities.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a team environment, ideally in food production.
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business, Food Science or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
- A solid understanding of HACCP principles and food sanitation, and their application in food production, is required.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of bakery operations and production planning is beneficial.
- Proven track record of hiring and developing high-performing teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.)
