Greystone Automotive Group is an automotive service leader focused on providing the highest level of customer service. We are currently looking for an experienced ASE Certified Automotive Technician for our locations in the Galleria and Sugar Land Areas to assist our customers with all of their service needs.
Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Capable of diagnosing and repairing different types of vehicles
- Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly
- Identify mechanical problems, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment
- Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined
- Test and lubricate the vehicle’s engine and other major components
- Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads and wheel bearings
- Use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective
- Examine vehicle and discuss with service manager the nature and extent of any damage or malfunction.
- Provide recommendations for repair, parts list needed to perform recommended repairs and hours required to perform the repairs using industry standard labor guides.
- Provide list of all items needing attention, whether maintenance, safety or other.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of automotive repair experience
- Must have the required tools to perform major service repairs
- Must be team oriented and have excellent communication skills
- Must have an active State Inspector License
- Capable of performing under pressure, manage time deadlines
- Diesel engine knowledge is a plus
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to utilize computerized alignment equipment as well as operate diagnostic equipment and tools effectively
- Active Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence is the standard credential for service technicians.
- All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.
Note: This position may require heavy lifting, equipment repair, welding, and occasional sales-related tasks.
