The eCommerce Business Analyst will turn data into information, information into insight, and insight into business decisions to aid in the growth of our digital commerce platform, MySEE. The focus of this role is on end-to-end data management and analytics, from building and maintaining ETL (extract, transform, and load) processes to producing data visualizations and reports. The candidate should have experience working with business intelligence concepts, relational data, and various reporting tools. This individual will be responsible for using their technical expertise, critical thinking skills, and business knowledge to provide data, reporting, and/or analysis to answer questions or address business needs from key stakeholders in a timely manner. Perform data, business, and systems analysis, and deliver consumable reports using system reporting tools to identify trends, potential issues, findings, and actionable recommendations.
Work collaboratively with others to prioritize business needs, provide visibility into customer insights, and establish recommendations based on data-driven analysis.
Develop an understanding of the business processes in place that drive data entry into our systems and the knowledge to serve as a subject matter expert for the underlying data being used in reporting.
Partner with other departments to become a subject matter expert on their SLAs, tools, data, and processes.
Maintain relationships across the team/department/company to build trust in internal data and promote data-driven decision-making.
Work independently to handle multiple simultaneous data and reporting projects. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (including database management coursework)
3-5 years’ experience in data analytics & reporting management
Previous background/experience in a data-centric role
Critical and analytical thinking skills plus the intellectual curiosity to question/test assumptions and find edge cases.
Strong communication skills
Strong data manipulation, analysis, and visualization skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Ability to work independently and creatively when help is not available and the solution to a problem is not immediately known.
Demonstrate an understanding of relational data.
