At East Lake Golf Club, we thrive when our people thrive. We’re currently looking for a Food & Beverage Assistant Manager. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention for details. This person should have experience working in the food & beverage operation, ideally a golf club. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, sense of urgency, ability to train, motivate and lead others, and act with integrity. This position requires the ability to organize and prioritize, be personable, responsible, and willing to work in a team environment with an emphasis on leadership. This position requires working nights, weekends, and some holidays. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the food & beverage service operation, as a member of the food & beverage management team. This position will assist in management responsibilities of the food & beverage dining room outlets, while providing an emphasis of leading the food and beverage team on the floor for day-to-day dining operations in our Grill Room and various banquet spaces.
Job Tasks
- Assists in all F&B outlets as needed in effectively executing a la carte & banquet service.
- Assists in all F&B outlets as needed in effectively executing the TOUR Championship.
- Rotates responsibilities among F&B outlets as needed.
- Assists in opening and closing of food and beverage outlets within the club.
- Assists in the orientation and training of new and current food and beverage service staff.
- Maintains the food and beverage storage facilities. Ensuring that supplies are properly kept.
- Develops knowledge of POS system and able to train employees on all aspects of system.
- Continually monitors and reassesses the department’s training and development needs.
- Maintains a high level of member contact throughout service hours. Understands the need to be consistently “member ready” in both appearance and service.
- Handles member and guest complaints in a professional manner and according to established policies and forwards all information to the Food and Beverage Director.
- Maintains appearance, upkeep and cleanliness of all F&B equipment and facilities.
- Promotes a positive working relationship between the front of the house and culinary teams.
- Maintains positive attitude with all staff and members. Avoids all negative comments.
- Displays a sense of urgency with all tasks, sets an example for the staff.
- Banquet Functions:
- Creates team side work assignments and communicates floor plans
- Participates in and ensures event room preparation including a walkthrough of all areas prior to guest arrival
- Executes seamless banquet events according to specifications
- A la Carte Functions:
- Reviews billing for accuracy and ensures all outlets are provided proper information
- Ensures and oversees the execution of member dining inside and outside
- Assists with menu accuracy and POS updates
- Anticipates member/guests needs and ensures all outlets are properly stocked according to who is on property daily
Qualifications/Minimum Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A 4-year-degree in Hospitality is preferred.
- Previous food & beverage supervisory experience required, experience in a private club desired.
Have a high level of interpersonal skills to communicate policies, procedures, and objectives.
