Personal Injury law firm seeks full time paralegal to oversee personal injury cases in pre-litigation/litigation . Duties to include but are not limited to:
A growing law office is searching for a dynamic, experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our office in Houston. This is a great opportunity to work with trial attorneys while performing various litigation tasks throughout the litigation process on personal injury cases. Additionally, this is a great opportunity for someone passionate about assisting attorneys in representing clients fairly and efficiently while handling the following responsibilities:
- Drafting and answering discovery to include discovery responses
- Client Communications/Meetings
- Handling File Review and relevant casework on PI cases
- Requesting and Summarizing Medical Records w/Affidavits
- Meet all relevant court appointed deadlines
- Responsible for scheduling and preparing mediations and depositions with everything confirmed/completed minimum of one week prior.
- Responsible for setting up trial notebooks minimum one week prior to trial Tracking and documenting any subrogation liens. Utilizing Pro-Docs or other on-line/in house resource for document preparation and e-filing
- Calendaring Updating client case management file [Neos] Conduct Witness interviews and case investigation through telephone, written, and in-person communication.
- Conduct factual and Legal Research using LEXIS, and/or other on-line facilities Perform general and/or administrative paralegal duties, including maintaining files, writing memos, and corresponding with clients and opposing counsel Handling medical reductions for litigation cases
- Working with attorneys and other staff in the firm on various assignments and topics Maintaining appropriate amount of client contact regarding case
- Ability to maintain an average caseload of 60 - 85 litigation cases in various stages of the PI process Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Three (3) to Five (5) consecutive years of personal injury paralegal work experience preferred Must be able to work high caseload and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service skills Excellent organization and time management skills required Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a high-volume environment Familiar with Needles Case Management Program Ability to communicate and work well in a team environment required Must have Paralegal Certification Degree or minimum of 5 years Litigation Paralegal experience in Personal Injury Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer screen 90% of the assigned shift Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone with or without accommodations
We will conduct a short competency exam at the conclusion of your first interview and share the results with you afterwards. Your initial rate of pay will depend largely on your past experience as well as the results of your initial competency exam. After ninety (90) days, your performance review will be a large determining factor when considering any possible raise/bonus increase.

Litigation experience a plus; Spanish bilingual a plus. Starting rate $18.00-$20.00 per hour. Available 5 days/40 hours a week. Law firm is small and growing and anticipates that responsibilities and pay will increase.
Will consider a 3-6 month working interview and assessment with the right candidate. Looking for a self-sufficient hard worker looking to start the new year off right and to grow with the office. Free parking.
