Summary
The store manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining excellence in guest services, oversees and is accountable for the operation of the store ensuring maximum sales and profitability through merchandise, inventory, and expense control and managing operating costs.
Essential Functions
- Ensures excellence in all aspects of the guest service experience including but not limited to the following:
- Service walk-in customers and process orders.
- Solve application problems for counter customers.
- Responds to customer inquiries on pricing and availability, product information and technical support.
- Cash & Credit Handling.
- Solid product knowledge including cross over competitive products.
- Purchase parts for rush orders.
- Expedite items for customers.
- Process customer returns.
- Trouble shoot and resolve order processing issues.
- Load customer part number cross-references & specific pricing information.
- Utilize printed and on-line vendor information resources.
- Keep product and reference information up to date.
- Provide literature to customers.
- Analyze and measure business trends; develop and implement plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives.
- Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise adjacencies and presentations; signing, and assortment in all departments; ensure selling floor is adequately stocked.
- Review store trends and recommend and initiate changes for maximizing goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Continually evaluates and react to performance issues.

Hazards and Working Conditions
Work around potentially hazardous moving equipment and machine parts. Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids. Occasionally handle up to 100lbs and lift up to 80lbs. Occasionally works in confined spaces. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Repetitive walking, standing, squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching overhead or twisting, crouching, stooping throughout the workday.
Required to bend to the floor and lift objects as needed. Pushing or pulling objects in lightweight to moderate weight. Operators of powered industrial trucks shall be physically qualified, including field of vision, hearing, depth perception and reaction timing. Storefront and warehouse environment exposure.
Qualifications
Technical school degree or four year college degree required.
Two to three years management experience preferred.
Knowledge of fluid power products preferred.
Bilingual preferred but not required.
