Qualifications:
- 5 years outside hospitality sales experience.
- Minimum 4 years hospitality/management experience preferred
- Previous managerial experience in hiring, training, supervising and scheduling employees a plus
- Must pass criminal background check
- Valid driver license with DMV Record acceptable to be insured driver on employer’s insurance policy

Job description for:
Regional Director of Sales
Directs designated sales staff at assigned hotels to ensure top-line revenue and sales goals are achieved for
each hotel. Responsible for sales staff training, development, recruitment, selection and performance management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reports to and works directly with Corporate Director of Sales
- Collaborates with Revenue Managers, General Managers and sales staff to ensure selling strategies are aligned with overall hotel revenue goals.
- Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities to maintain hotels’ status as market leaders.
- Leads by example and is knowledgeable of current hotel sales practices and procedures including contracting, account management, RFPs and CRMs.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders within accounts
- Participates in community events and organizations.
- Networks inside the community to create lasting and beneficial relationships with entities such as local business leaders, the chamber of commerce, CVB, and city offices
- Travel to designated hotels to increase sales efforts and oversee area hotels, (will be assigned)
- Leads and works with area sales team on all properties, growing revenues and posting all activities for properties in CRM
- Regularly plans travel and sales and marketing activities for individual property visits and communicates with individual General Managers and CDOS
- Trains new and existing property sales representatives and provides support and sales assistance
- Performs outside sales calls individually on selected accounts and new business sources
- Assists with new property ramp-up where necessary
- Conducts individual sales call and shares production goals with Area Team and General Managers
- Coordinates and documents quarterly sales strategy with all hotels in region
- Plan and execute successful sales blitzes, client events, and promotions
- Preparation of regular and special reports as may be required by the Corporate Director of Sales and VP of Operations
- Assure all Mereté SOP and handbook policies are adhered to
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; monitoring and appraising work performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
- Regularly mobile and often stationary within office environment – standard office furniture: desk, padded swivel chair.
- Ability to operate computers, phones, copier/fax machines and other standard office equipment.
- Motions required for in and out of vehicle.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Up to 70% travel required
- Reliable transportation needed for frequent driving and travel.
- Must adhere to the Company’s safety standards and procedures.
- Exposed to various weather conditions when making sales calls.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to travel 70%. This is not a remote role.
- Minimum 2 years Hotel Director of Sales experience with a proven history of leading and developing a sales team.
- Cluster/multiunit experience and major brand experience is a plus – Marriott, IHG and/or Hilton.
- Must be able to communicate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to achieve company goals.
- Read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members.
- Flexibility in scheduling is required as some evenings/weekends are required.
- Must possess a valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
- Must pass criminal background check.
SUCCESS FACTORS:

- Maintains successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses and providing a return on investment for the owner and Mereté
- Ability to read and interpret a variety of reports including STR Report, Kalibri Labs, CRM reports, brand reports, and Agency360.
- Effective time management (i.e. planning prioritizing, delegating, etc.).
- Effective communication both verbal and written with customers, guests, associates, and all members of management.
- Follow all safety procedures. Follow all appropriate policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 years Hotel Director of Sales or multi-property sales experience with proven history of leading and developing a sales team. Cluster/multiunit experience and major hotel brand experience preferred. Must be able to communicate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders in order to achieve company goals.
