The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations within the logistics hub to ensure efficient and effective upstream warehousing and transportation in line with regulations (GDP/GMP/Cold Chain/Trade/Security). This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, team leadership, and collaboration with other departments to fulfill distribution and logistics requirements.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Lead the logistics hub operations team for upstream warehousing and transportation services
Ensure an efficient material flow across Moderna’s upstream supply chain: Inbound, warehousing, Intercompany and Outbound.
Ensure processes are adherent to Health Authority requirements and guidelines, such as Good Distribution and Storage Practices, based on commercial demands and product portfolio
Implement GDP compliant end to end shipping concepts: handling of goods, shipping validation and customs clearance, etc.
Optimize the cost to serve and ensures efficient management of logistics-related activities
Partner with trade compliance to make sure processes follow import and export regulations
Work closely with key stakeholders such as Commercial Supply Chain, Supply Chain Planning, local Supply Chain organizations, Digital, Logistics Engineering, Corporate Security, and Quality to ensure business and compliance requirements are reflected in upstream distribution and logistics processes
Develop and implement distribution network structure together with key stakeholders
Drive development of interaction between systems and processes
Develop distribution and logistics key performance indicators (KPI)
Update and implement Compliance and Business Process documentation – internally and with 3rd Party Logistics providers
Co-ordinate and manage internal and external parties to deliver the initiatives within agreed upon time frame
Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time
Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
Education: BS/BA degree in supply chain / logistics, engineering, or management/business administration
Experience: 8-10 years (BS) or 5-8 years (MS) in various Distribution/Logistics functions and Supply Chain
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Pharmaceutical and Biotech experience highly preferred.
Experience working in a cGMP and cGDP environment with a good understanding of the Pharma industry & Supply Chain, highly preferred.
Experience with Cold Chain Transportation Products
Experience in SAP or related ERP system is required
Experience of logistics software (transport management system, visibility tools)
Working knowledge of GDP and relevant guidelines and regulations.
Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively collaborate and communicate with senior CMC Management in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment – you are outgoing, communicative, and seek to build relationships on a daily basis
Well organized – a natural ability to be organized in how you think, communicate and conduct your work
You drive for results and demonstrate the ability to develop solutions. You love what you do, and it shows
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
