- Act as project lead while collaborating closely with the Director of Events & Protocol to design
events hosted by the Mayor, including Legacy Heritage events, and other community events
with internal citywide agencies or external partners.
- Providing coordination and project management to ensure event success, including event
briefings, event production schedules, guest lists, mayoral advance sheets for respective
events, budget management, developing/managing invitation process, and all other printed
materials for City Hall approval.
- Candidate should have experience in managing staff to ensure seamless production of event
activities; Candidate will manage an event coordinator and interns; Management and oversight
of all event details including catering, entertainment, guest lists, program management,
transportation, venue preparation, special guest requirements, all necessary equipment,
promotional and marketing materials, etc.
- Detail oriented individual to prepare and disseminate briefing and production materials in a
timely fashion, which includes logistical specifications of the event to required individuals on
the briefing, speechwriting and ceremonial teams.
- Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day
and conduct post-event debriefing sessions.
About You
• You have 3 + years of event experience with experience managing staff.
- You have experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- You are a great communicator (both written and verbally).
- You can interface effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization.
- You can work a flexible work schedule; Due to the necessary required event duties of this
position, staff may be required to be on call and/or work on weekends, evenings, early
mornings, and public holidays.
- A drivers license is preferred with a comfort of driving around New York City.
- Salary is commensurate with expertise, experience, and skills.
Salary
The City of New York Office of the Mayor’s compensation package includes a market competitive
salary, equity for all full-time roles and exceptional benefits. Our cash compensation range for this role
is $65,000 to $75,000.
