The Lead Community Organizer plays an important role in mobilizing communities and advocating for social change.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Engage volunteer residents in non-partisan voter registration, education, Get Out The Vote (GOTV), and other outreach/mobilization programs
- Lead a Canvassing Team in program outreach activities throughout the target area communities, and maintain a calendar of program outreach events
- Participate in door-to-door canvassing, community canvassing, and phone banking
- Attend training related to the program
- Conduct presentations related to program opportunities at assigned sites in groups or in one-on-one settings
- Assist with the facilitation of informational workshops and any necessary follow-up.
- Event planning, coordinating food, materials, event set-ups and needs
- Together with Program Director, establish a media and communications plan to publicize projects and solicit community support
- Provide weekly and monthly written reports to document activities, updates, and results via conference calls and timely updates
- Update contacts on the database on a weekly basis

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish
- Knowledge of Virtual and in-person Organizing
- Ability to quickly engage individuals
- Experience using PDI (preferred)
- Attention to detail and excellent follow-through on work tasks
- Familiar with sending mass communications via text messages
- Experience and passion for community organizing
- Experience with facilitation of trainings (preferred)
- Experience in working with diverse communities
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, (one-on-one and group dynamics), cultural competency, strong listening skills
- Strong communication skills
- A proactive solutions-oriented approach
- Flexibility to go with ever a fast-changing work environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Videoconference, & technical online skills (required)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
