HVAC Superintendent Full job description
The HVAC Superintendent is to provide overall direction for field installation of projects. Owns direct responsibility for “field labor, labor coordination, quality control, and safety” on projects. Represents our company on the project site and insures that the installation functions as designed and satisfies the contracted scope. The Superintendent must be specialized in the areas of new construction, schools, retail, restaurant, residential custom homes and remodel. Must also have the ability to read and understand blue prints, submittals and plan details. They should be familiar with current building codes.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all on site employees comply with OSHA standard safety rule and conduct weekly safety meeting.
- Totally accountable for quality of work at project
- Identifying potential change orders
- Responsible for General Contractor and Customer relations
- Attend and coordinate meetings with the site crews and General Contractor
- Job scheduling including all labor and material requirements
- Monitor installation including sheet metal, duct board, and flexible duct work, piping, wiring, controls, trim, etc.
- Schedule manpower and also responsible for hiring workers
- Interpret HVAC drawings for craft installation
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site functions
- Perform material take-offs, ordering tools, materials, project layouts, and equipment in a timely fashion to maximize field productivity
- Coordination of installation between trades and coordinate sub-contractor progress
- Schedule equipment and rental deliveries
- Monitor crew performance, labor reporting, job cost reviews and time sheet reviewal.
- This position involves some hands-on work.
- Maintain job on time and budget.
