Job Summary Statement:
The Sports Inventory Assistant provides data entry and administrative support to the department through inventory organization, as well as preparation and shipment of our trading-card-set autograph assets. Track raw and finished materials by updating statistical reports and status documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in inventory organization by entering memorabilia data into the inventory system, detailing the characteristics of the item (size, color, labels, year, type, etc.), the PO information and vendor.
- As directed by any Acquisitions Manager or Assistant Manager, sort, QC, count, assemble, etc. materials for mailing to athletes/agents. Materials include trading cards, stickers, patches, pens, etc.
- Create pull sheets, shipping requests, labels and other activities necessary to prepare packages for shipment.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of rookie premier annual events by sorting and assembling materials needed at the events.
- Occasional travel may occur.
- Other duties as assigned. Some overtime or weekend work may be required.
- May support more than one manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in computer use, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Fast and accurate data entry/typing skills, entering a variety of information.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Careful attention to detail and accuracy needed to ensure products are recorded and delivered correctly.
- Ability to prioritize and plan activities efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Good oral and written communication skills; professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team; ability to work overtime as needed.
- Must be self-motivated and a self-starter with the ability to take direction from a variety of staff with diverse personalities.
- Ability to maintain order and neatness in limited space.
- Knowledge to create pivot tables and ability to learn other software preferred.
- May require lifting of boxes up to 20 lbs.
- Excellent attendance expected.
Equipment/Software, Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- 1-2 years progressively responsible experience performing administrative/data entry work in a general office environment.
- Proficient in computer use and in a variety of software programs.
