Duties/Requirements of a teacher include:
- NYS certified, Bachelor's in Education, Master's a plus
- Recent Grads
- Certification in Child Abuse, Infectious Disease, and First Aid/CPR
- Fingerprinting by DOI
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum /Teaching Strategies
- Daily teaching of lessons and writing plans for Units of Study and all classroom activities
- Facilitate Parent/Teacher conferences
- Supervision of children in the classroom, playground and gym areas
- Strong Classroom Management Skills
- Participation in center-wide programs Ex: Parent's Night Out, Pajama Night, Curriculum Night, Street fair, Open House, etc.
- Record keeping- Screenings & Assessments (Ex: Ages & Stages, Checkpoints for Teaching Strategies), Daily Attendance
- Classroom preparation and planning- Set-up before school starts in September
- Cleaning of classroom materials and equipment as needed
- Attend staff meetings as well as staff development trainings throughout the year in accordance to OCFS/DOE/ guidelines
- Maintain confidentiality about our children, their families, and other employees
- Supervise assistant teachers, aides, or parent volunteers
- Be a team player
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
