Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support our medical staff by performing various administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facility and the best possible care for our patients. Bilingual speaking in English and Vietnamese/Spanish is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors, ensuring a warm and professional welcome.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Other duties as assigned
Clinical Duties:
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and explaining procedures.
- Assist physicians during examinations and minor surgeries.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and administer medications as directed by a physician.
- Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other diagnostic tests.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean and well-stocked.
- Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) is desirable.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift or move patients and medical equipment.
- Manual dexterity for handling instruments and performing tasks.
Working Conditions:
- The role is performed in a clinical setting with exposure to infectious diseases and bodily fluids.
- May require working evenings, weekends, or holidays based on patient needs.
