Job Summary
Fox & Associates, Inc. has an immediate opening for a motivated individual for its Hagerstown Maryland office as a Civil Engineering Designer.
Responsibilities for this position include the preparation of site civil design plans, drafting, and various engineering calculations. The successful candidate will work on a variety of assignments involving engineering for infrastructure design of water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, and storm water management systems, site grading, roadway and site paving, and sediment and erosion control. Other work will involve the preparation of drawings and specifications for civil works projects for public and private clients.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Knowledge of various computer software including spreadsheets, word processing, and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Carlson Civil Suite, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and other engineering software applications is helpful.
- Knowledge of Federal, local, and industry engineering codes and standards.
- Knowledge of civil engineering concepts and principles. Skill in applying civil engineering practices and principles.
- Qualifications and Skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree.
- Zero to two years of experience as this is an Entry Level Position.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred, but not required.
- Experience in all aspects of site development, water distribution and sewer collection systems design, parking lots and roads, stormwater management, grading, erosion and sediment control, from initial project planning through construction phase.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
- Self-starter who can work independently and with a team.
