POSITION DESCRIPTION
Natividad is accepting applications for
Staff Nurse I - New Grad in various units. This is the entry level in the professional Staff Nurse series. Incumbents are generally recent graduates of nursing schools. Under the supervision of the Supervising/Charge Nurse, this incumbent performs professional nursing duties in the care and service of patients and their families; provides direct and indirect patient care in the inpatient care setting. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility in a professional and timely manner. Communicates with physician or charge nurse about changes in patient status, and results of abnormal diagnostic tests. The Staff Nurse I - New Grad is expected to work at the full scope of their licensure providing clinical care with a decreasing amount of supervision.
Candidates must be available to start working on Monday, August 12, 2024, if selected, and provide a valid California Registered Nurse license or California Interim Permit (NCLEX must be taken and passed by Sunday, July 14th, 2024)

10-week program with both didactic and simulation learning modalities concurrent with clinical hours
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Under close supervision, incumbents perform routine patient care assignments and receive comprehensive in-service training. They are expected to promote to the journey level of Staff Nurse II after acquiring the appropriate experience and demonstrating satisfactory performance. This position is distinguished from the next higher level of Staff Nurse II in that the latter is expected to perform the full range of nursing duties with minimal supervision and only periodic in-service training.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Natividad requires that all incumbents pass a pre-employment physical/medical assessment.

Natividad will conduct a thorough background and reference check process which includes a Department of Justice fingerprint check.

Employees who drive on County business to carry out job related duties must possess a valid CA Driver License for the class vehicle driven.

Employees must have and show their original Social Security Card and a valid CA Driver License or CA State ID prior to the first day of work.

Incumbents may be required to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays;

Incumbents may be required to work with potentially hazardous and infectious substances.
