Under the direction of the charge nurse and clinical director, the Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing activities related to the care of the patient experiencing an operative procedure.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates perioperative care for all age patients in an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center
- Provides care and demonstrate knowledge of AORN nursing standards of practice and the policies and procedures of the Center
- Makes decisions regarding patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and other members of the health care team
- Clinically proficient in OR nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the developmental needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize task, use critical thinking skills, and be flexible as job priorities change.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with physicians, patients, staff, and all members of the healthcare team
- Cognizant of the physiological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual needs of the patient
- Accurately documents nursing care
- Demonstrates a positive attitude
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing and hold a current unrestricted license to practice in the State of Florida.
- Current American Heart BLS certification
- Experience working as a circulator required.
- BSN preferred.
