11:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday-Thursday (16 Hours per week)
Position Summary: Performs a variety of clerical work in supporting the operations of the Treasurer/Collector’s Office.
Essential functions: Customer Service and receiving tax and other municipal payments.
Supervision: Works under the direction of the Treasurer/Collector
Duties and Responsibilities:

Receive tax and other municipal payments in cash and check.

Balance cash drawer and work daily.

Assist with processing weekly warrants for distribution.

Communicate via telephone, email, and in person with taxpayers, tax services, and attorneys to provide information relating to billing, payments received, and account balances.

Able to work with a high level of detail; prioritize multiple tasks and deal effectively with interruptions.

Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.

Ability to work and communicate well with others.

Performs other related duties as required.
Recommended Education & Experience:
-
High School Diploma or GED.

Associate degree or equivalent education preferred.

A minimum of two years of clerical experience is required.

Municipal or banking experience of one to three years is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge: Knowledge of clerical experience in an office setting or Municipal experience.
Skills: Operates computer equipment and standard office equipment, including computer, telephone, fax machine, calculator, and copy machine. Professional courtesy and customer service are paramount.
Abilities: Ability to interact in a positive and effective manner with personnel at all levels of authority. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, in writing and orally. Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records. Ability to post payments and balance. Ability to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously.
