Residential Advocate – 4PM - 12AM
Position Summary – Residential Advocates work closely with our clients in the safe house to provide safe house services, information and support in a manner that supports empowerment and respecting participant’s right to choose. Residential Advocates ensure the security and safety of he shelter and its residents, carry out shelter guidelines, handle crisis situations and assist clients as needed.
Direct Supervisor: Safe House Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide for the needs of residents, maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and policies of the agency when working with residents.
· Ensure the security and safety of the safe house and its residents and handle crisis situations appropriately. Report any concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.
· Log and document appropriate shift and residential information by the end of each shift.
· Document individual activity in compliance with agency, funding source guidelines and procedures.
· Ensure residents receive and review handbooks and are fully informed and aware of health and safety requirements and guidelines for communal living.
· Work directly with Safe House Manager to implement a structured individual plan of service for each client.
· Support clients in the completion of their individual plan of service and any activities assigned by the Safe House Manager or Program Staff.
· Perform necessary shelter operations, including but not limited to performing client intakes, taking supply inventory, putting away groceries, assisting with meal prep, cleaning and other general chores.
· Provide shift coverage as scheduled
· Maintain a daily schedule at the safehouse.
· Forward and release the crisis line as needed during non-business hours and provide crisis line coverage as needed.
· Oversee inventory of household supplies.
· Coordinate with other sites and programs as needed.
· Other Duties as assigned

· Commitment to serving the needs of those who have experienced interpersonal violence.
· Ability to interact in a supportive and professional manner with a diverse population.
· Ability to work independently and as a team, showing initiative, resourcefulness, flexibility and reliability
· Establish rapport and maintain healthy boundaries with residents and fellow team members.
· Ability to remain calm, make sound decisions, give clear direction and provide leadership in a crisis situation.
· Well organized, creative, empathetic and people orientated.
· Ability to multi task.
Specific Job Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Prefer one year experience providing direct client services.
· Excellent written and oral skills
· Experience with Microsoft Office, email and Internet
· Must have current drivers license and insurance coverage.
· Pass drug and background check.

Pay: From $31,200.00 per year
