Overview:
Hope for Caribbean Kids, Inc. (HFCK), is a 501(c)(3) Christian non-profit organization established to support the work God has begun to improve the lives of children of Haiti. HFCK seeks opportunities to promote the name of Jesus Christ and to reach unbelievers with the message of salvation.
Job Summary: Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
● Develops, organizes, and executes approved fundraising programs including individual and corporate gifts, special events, planned giving, foundation grants, bequests, annuities, and/or other methods approved by the HFCK Board of Directors.
● Responsible for relationship management of donors (200+) and prospects with focus on five-figure multi-year gifts.
o Leads each step of the donor pipeline: identification; qualification through research; cultivation; request for support; prompt follow up, stewardship, and recognition;
o Develops and facilitates individual donor care plans and materials for each individual major gift prospect/donor; and
o Maintains thorough documentation of major gift interactions in HFCK reporting system.
● Identifies sources of potential funding.
● Participates with HFCK Executive Director and other staff in planning matters that have implications for the fundraising needs for HFCK and keeps the board’s chairperson regularly and fully informed of the status and progress of approved fundraising programs.
● Submits monthly and annual reports of fundraising activity to the Executive Director.
● Prepares others to solicit gifts from identified sources and potential donors.
● Designs and develops printed material required to support the fundraising programs in cooperation with the Executive Director.
● Plans and arranges for appropriate recognition of donors and other significant contributors.
● Maintains professional affiliations and enhances personal growth and development to stay abreast of latest trends in international ministry fundraising.
Essential Job Requirements:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred. The candidate will have a demonstration of continuing education in fund development.
● Experience: Minimum of five years of successful and broad-based fund development is preferred. Previous administrative experience in a non-profit setting is preferred. Outstanding organizational, motivational, team-building, writing, speaking, and basic financial skills are desired. The Director of Development will be required to have the ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals and groups in both business and social settings.
● Characteristics Required: This position requires a variety of complex, challenging duties on matters of significance, which require the candidate to exercise integrity, and the ability to establish trust and credibility. Involved are high degrees of problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
● This position will have the flexibility of a remote workplace with varied hours, depending on donor and prospect scheduling.
● This is a fast-paced position working in conjunction with donors, community partners, the public, and the Board of Directors.
● This position requires travel, as needed.
● Must possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
