We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Traffic Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing traffic systems to ensure safe and efficient transportation. This role involves working with various stakeholders to plan, design, and improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance road safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement traffic management plans, including signal design, road markings, signage, and traffic calming measures.
- Utilize software tools such as Synchro, VISSIM, and AutoCAD for traffic modeling, simulation, and design.
- Conduct traffic studies and impact assessments to determine the effects of new developments or changes in infrastructure.
- Prepare engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic projects.
- Collect and analyze traffic data, including vehicle counts, speed studies, and accident reports.
- Use data analysis to identify traffic patterns, congestion points, and safety concerns.
- Develop and recommend solutions to improve traffic flow and safety based on data analysis.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and other relevant standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in traffic engineering and design
- Proven track record of managing and delivering traffic infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in traffic engineering software such as Synchro, VISSIM, and AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
