Summary
The University of Saint Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary (USML) is the major seminary and graduate school of theology for the Archdiocese of Chicago. Mundelein Seminary is one of the largest priesthood preparation programs in the United States having graduated over 4,000 students since 1926 and serving nearly 30 dioceses in the United States and abroad. In addition to the formation of priests, USML also has programs to prepare Deacons, and lay people for ministry and evangelization
The Senior Coordinator – Parish Ministry Programs (SC-PMP) provides leadership for parish ministry programs unit of the School of Parish Leadership and Evangelization. The Senior Coordinator leads a group of other ministry formation professionals to develop and deliver programs that responds to the needs of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Catholic Church throughout the region in both English and Spanish, onsite and online. The Senior Coordinator is an experienced ministry and educational professional capable of leading a highly skilled team and representing the program to diverse constituencies.

Essential Job Functions
Supervision
- Provides management and supervison for all Coordinators working with programs with parish ministry programs – including lay leadership, ministerio laico, catecetical coordinator, etc.
- Conducts annual performance evaluations with coordinators to provide regular feedback and goal setting.
- Establishes and maintains positive lines of communication and team work with coordinators in keeping with the mission of the university.
Assessment, Programs, Collaboration
- In collaboration with other members of the parish ministry programs team, ensures that course schedules and faculty assignments are submitted regularly.
- Works as the lead member of the parish ministry programs
- Coordinate meetings with specific ministry leaders as needed to help match skills, interest, and needs of SPLE.
- In collaboration with the dean and external partners, helps to develop new parish ministry programs.
- In collaboration with program leads, hire highly qualified adjunct faculty to teach and develop course for the program.
- Communicate regularly with USML personnel and archdiocesean personnel about parish programs.
- Fosters high quality programming and regular program review for all parish ministry programs in English and in Spanish.
- Collaborates with Graduate Program Coordinator and Coordinator of Diaconal Formation to provide human, spiritual, and pastoral formation for all programs.
- Works with others in the parish ministry program unit to ensure the quality of instruction and student learning outcomes.
- Participate in any required meetings.
Academic Operations
- In collaboration with the Coordinator for Admissions and Student Services facilitates student communication.
- Facilitates faculty communication in collaboration with the Factulty Liaison
- Promotes the program and other SPLE programs with partners and perspective students.
- Coordinates with Assistant Dean the academic calendar for parish ministry programs, admissions information, new partnership development, and all other areas related to academic operations.
- Helps to lead student orientation, new faculty orientation, formation days, and recruitment events as necessary.
- Provides regular instruction and ministerial leadership for formation events related to parish ministry programs.
- Regularly attends Program Leads and All SPLE meetings.
Other pertinent duties as assigned
Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution, in pastoral or biblical studies, Theology or related area required.
- Minimum of five years experience in a Catholic ministerial environment, and/ or higher education -based instititutions, required, non-profit management preferred. Ten years preferred.
- Strong understand of and experience with ministry at the parish and diocesean levels within the Roman Catholic Church.
- Experience working within a diverse setting with faculty, staff, students, and family members.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Computer literate, with expertise in the Microsoft platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Microsoft and Publisher knowledge preferred), Outlook or comparable software required.
- Competence in a variety of research based teaching methodologies, and assessments.
- Demonstrated capabilities in leadership and academic competency.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
